He is depicted on horseback in left-profile relief sitting up straight in the saddle with his unit flag holstered in the saddle of the horse. The obverse of the coin depicts the bust of King George V, who was eigning monarch of Britain and the Commonwealth in 1920 when the modern Royal Canadian Mounted Police service was formed.
