2022 Perth Mint Silver Kangaroo Mini-Monster Box (SEALED)

The Perth Mint is proud to release the 2022 version of the 1-ounce Australian Silver Kangaroo Coin. With a classic design that highlights the coin’s 99.99% pure silver content, this lustrous coin is considered legal tender by the Australian government and has a face value of $1 AUD. After nearly two decades of Gold Kangaroo production, the Perth Mint added a silver version for the first time in 2016 giving collectors an opportunity to diversify their bullion portfolio within their favorite Australian coin series.

Each year investors wait patiently for the Perth Mint to release the next version of the famous series inspired by Australia’s most beloved bounding marsupial. The first silver iteration of the coin was so intensely guarded that it was only revealed to the public at the World Fair of Money in 2016. Purchasing silver bullion coins in the 1-ounce size is one of the most affordable ways to diversify an investment portfolio with tangible assets.

The reverse side of the 2022 Australian Kangaroo 1-ounce Silver Bullion Coin features one of the most recognizable wildlife symbols in Australia, the red kangaroo. The engraving on the reverse side captures the speed and grace of the kangaroo in motion. Suspended in mid-air in the center of the coin, the kangaroo hops with its powerful legs and its oversized tail towards the left side of the coin with silver rays of light radiating from its body. “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” is arched over the top edge of the coin and the coin’s year “2022”, weight “1 oz”, and silver content “9999 SILVER” are engraved along the bottom half of the coin. An extra security feature only detectable under a magnifying glass reveals a micro-laser engraved letter within the heading. The Perth Mint’s well-known mint mark “P” is etched just above the tip of the kangaroo’s tail on the right side of the coin’s edge.

The obverse of the 2022 Australian Kangaroo 1-ounce Silver Bullion Coin features the identical right profile of Queen Elizabeth II that can be found on all current Australian coinage. This famous engraving by British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley has been seen on coins since 1998 and includes exquisite details of the world’s favorite royal from her crown to her curls. The well-known profile also indicates the backing of the Australian government. Ringing the edge of the coin are the engravings “AUSTRALIA”, “ELIZABETH 11”, and the coin’s monetary value “1 DOLLAR”.

Mintage of the 1-ounce coin is currently unlimited and available worldwide. The coins are packed in protective acrylic tubes of 25 coins, with 10 tubes to a monster box.
