Texas Precious Metals Announces the Launch of its Amazon.com Coins and Collectibles Store with $2.3M in Inventory
Leading precious metals dealer to offer 33,000 coins and $2.3M in inventory across broad range of vintage and modern coins on Amazon.com
Texas Precious Metals has today announced the launch of its collectible coins store on Amazon.com. The company has allotted $2.3M worth of inventory across a broad range of gold and silver coins from the United States Mint.
With vintage and modern coins dating to 1798, the complete catalog represents more than 33,000 coins across 500 unique products. The high-ticket item, a rare buffalo nickel from 1918, is listed at more than $26,000.
“Amazon has made a commitment to promoting collectible coins and serving as an advocate for the industry,” said Jason Kaspar, CEO of Texas Precious Metals. “We intend to participate in that marketplace with a significant financial commitment and exploit the resources Amazon offers its partners.”
Amazon.com will provide Texas Precious Metals with the benefits of secure credit card processing along with access to millions of daily users.
Texas Precious Metals, which posted $180.1M in revenue in 2013 on sales of sovereign and privately minted bullion coins and bars, has traditionally focused on bullion products rather than collectible coins, with the exception of its popular MS-62 and MS-63 St. Gaudens gold coin series, graded by PCGS and NGC. The Amazon initiative will serve to greatly expand the company’s portfolio of collectibles.
“Amazon has not yet expanded to selling standard bullion products on its platform,” noted Kaspar, “but we expect to be a major participant when they do.”
